Today, the Government of the Republic of Armenia has approved the provision of Gender Policy. Within six months period RA Government has obligated all interested Ministries to present to RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues the action plans for 2010-2015 on gender policy, which should be summerized within two months and introduce to RA Government.

Women’s Rights Center has organized an Award Ceremony for individuals, partners and donors who have contributed in women’s and children’s rights protection in Armenia. The Ceremony took place in the Yerevan Chamber Music Hall after Komitas on November 29, dedicated to the Women’s Human Rights Defenders’ Day.

On November 25, 2009, Women’s Rights Center joined to the annual “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence” Campaign and launched its first event dedicated to the International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Training on the Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Wome and its Optional Protocol took place on October 26, 30 2009 in Yerevan State University Guest House.

Training on Medical Abortion in Gyumri took place on October 23-24 within the project of “Feasibility and acceptability of expanding abortion services in Armenia”.

A workshop on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Advocacy in the Council of Europe took place on 26-29 September 2009 in Zagreb, Croatia.

The 11th WAVE conference “Stop violence against women and children” was held at the Vienna University of Technology from September 24th to 26th, 2009 to exchange expertise among WAVE’s Focal Point delegates.

The Annual Benevolent Bazaar organized by Yerevan International Ladies’ Association took place on September 18, 2009 at Armenia Marriott Hotel.

Training on the Optional Protocol to CEDAW took place on 15-18 September 2009, in Warsaw, Poland. The training was organized by KARAT Coalition and IWRAW Asia Pacific.

The third meeting of Young Women’s Network of Conflict Transformation in South Caucasus took place on 3-9 September 2009 in Stockholm, Sweden.
