On 4-5 June, 2010 Women’s Rights Center took part in WIDE’s Annual Conference on “Migration in the context of Globalization: Women’s Human Rights at risk”, which was organized in Bucharest, Romania by AUR (Karat Coalition member organization) and co-organized with Karat Coalition.

Children Folk Dance Ensemble of WRC Performance at “ErPi 2010” Festival (03.06.2010)

On May 24, the “ErPi 2010” traditional songs and dances festival dedicated to Alashkert traditional national culture took place at State Engineering University of Armenia. The best ensembles as well as the representatives of cultural song and dance, various groups and individual performers from different marzes and Yerevan participated in the festival.

2010 Global Forum for Women: Beijing +15 (27.02.2010)

2010 marks the 15th anniversary of the Beijing World Conference on Women. In recognition of this anniversary, an NGO Global Women’s Forum to consider implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPfA / Beijing+15) was organized in New York on February 27 & 28, 2010.

The meeting of the Global Network of Women’s Shelters (25.02.2010)

A two day meeting of the Global Network of Women’s Shelters (GNWS) was held in New York on February 25-26, 2010 to clarify and affirm GNWS vision, mission, goals and guiding principles as well as to develop a timeline for implementing the next steps of the GNWS. The meeting was specially organized to coincide with two meetings of NGO Global Forum for Women, Beijing+15, and the 54th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.

Gender Policy Provision Approved (11.02.2010)
|
Today, the Government of the Republic of Armenia has approved the provision of Gender Policy. Within six months period RA Government has obligated all interested Ministries to present to RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues the action plans for 2010-2015 on gender policy, which should be summerized within two months and introduce to RA Government.
