Marine Yeghiazaryan, psychologist of Women's rights center, took part in the meeting-discussion of the working group on gender-based violence in the context of the coronavirus (COVID-19). (06.07.2020)

The discussion focused on the main problems, gaps and obstacles caused by the epidemic, and submission of organized and response actions by the government.All the participants shared their experience and problems occured during Coronvirus. Psychologist of Women's rights center also presented activities which were carried in the state emergency. Discussion was summed up with answer and question session.

 
Specialists of Women's Rights Center held online trainings raising awareness of domestic violence and relevant legislation (01.07.2020)

The Women's Rights Center continues to recruit participants for online training on "Domestic Violence and Its Legal Regulations." 

 
Support for the beneficiaries of Women's Rights Center (26.06.2020)

The Beneficiaries of Women's Rights Center who have been affected by socio-economic consequences  of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and have social problems occured during quarantine situation are provided with financial support in the frames of KVINNA till KVINNA project. During the program, social assistance was provided to women, paying the utility bills of 22 beneficiaries, and rents of 6 beneficiaries' houses.

Social assistance programs will be ongoing, including programs from the United Nations and the European Union.

 
Although home may be considered a safe place for some, it is not the safest place for all during nationwide lockdown which has led to a rapid increase in cases of domestic violence. (22.06.2020)

In fact, related to COVID-19 lockdown, there has been a surge in cases of domestic violence not only in all over the world, but also in Armenia where victims of domestic violence are more vulnerable and at risk to a frighteningly new degree of violence.

Psychologist Marine Yeghiazaryan and Lawyer Hasmik Pakhanyan of WRC partcipated in online discussion which took place on May 4 at 11:00 at the National Assembly-Civil Society Cooperation Platform on "Domestic Violence in Armenia in the Light of COVID-19".

 
Online training on “What is domestic violence and its legal regulations” (04.04.2020)
According to the instituted quarantine regime in the country to control the spread of the highly contagious disease in Armenia, WRC staff is currently working from home, providing assistance to its beneficiaries via and taking responsibility and making reasonable approach in this situation. As seminars, conferences and other meetings are prohibited WRC staff decided to held online trainings instead.
 
Severe case of violence happened in Armenia (29.03.2020)
Severe case of violence happened in Armenia on March 5, at around 2:50 pm in the Textile Makers district of Gyumri. 43-year-old Marine Kh. got into an argument with her close friend in her house. The latter beat both the wife and her 13-year-old daughter.

Women's Rights Center participated in the development of the Strategic planning  and Advocacy Action Plan of Coalition to stop violence against women, which took place at the Dilijaz Hotel (Dilijan) on February 22-24. 

 
The last meetings of the year for women and their children (26.12.2019)
2019 year ended with the last meetings for women and their children organized by Women’s Rights Center. The meetings held with separate groups. The whole year work was summarized.

On November 6-7, 2019 psychologist and lawyer of "Women's Rights Center" NGO participated in the Multisectoral approach to prevent and counter Gender-based violence/ Domestic violence workshop.
