Starting from November 2008 Women’s Rights Center has organized Women’s Health Club meetings as an expansion of Women’s Support Group activity to advocate healthy lifestyle among women-victims of domestic violence. The meetings are dedicated to health care, body care, reproductive health and include participation in various cultural events as well.

At the first meeting the person responsible for organizational activities and her assistant volunteered. Around a table with coffee and tea women commented on those topics they will be willing to discuss and events to carry out to assist and ensure healthy lifestyle.

One of the Women’s Health Club meetings was dedicated to the issues on reproductive health and Astghik Zaqaryan, gynecologist from the Center for Family Planning and Sexual Health conducted it. Women addressed their questions to the professional concerning to various methods of preserving reproductive health, symptoms of any malfunctioning of the organism as well as methods of disease prevention and medical abortion.

Participants of the Women’s Health Club expressed their willingness to participate in a cultural event. The person responsible for organizing activities and her assistant gathered club members to attend an event devoted to the 85th anniversary of famous Armenian poet Paruyr Sevak. The event was very impressive and the women enjoyed it very much.

On March 3, 2009 Women’s Health Club meeting was dedicated to the International Day of Women. Members of Women’s Health Club wanted to celebrate this day together and congratulate each other. Meeting had unofficial atmosphere. Women had the opportunity to enjoy the party, play piano, sing, and dance. The meeting finished with high mood and positive attitude of every woman and they separated with the perspective for future meetings.
