Zaruhi Petrosyan's husband appealed the court's verdict (20.12.2011)

Today, on 20 December 2011, the Court of Criminal Appeals of the Republic of Armenia resumed the appeal hearing on the case of Zaruhi Petrosyan, which was initiated by the culprit Yanis Sarkisov’s attorney Jora Harutyunyan. The latter asks the Court of Appeal to set free Yanis Sarkisov or send the case back to the Court of First Instance.
An exceptional case occurred in the court. Eventually, Yanis Sarkisov spoke and answered to the questions addressed by the court. As a result, the appealing side expressed an opinion that the prosecutor had made the witnesses testify against the defender. The culprit did not consider him guilty, furthermore, he mentioned that he was jealous of his wife without further mentioning the reasons.
In this case the prosecutor Sargsyan expressed his position on the appeal, bringing the results of the investigation of the Court of First Instance that makes senseless the facts previously brought by the defender.
Meanwhile, the attorney Jora Harutyunyan arbitrated the Court, asking for some time to be acquainted with the respond of the appeal, presented by the victim’s legal successor. The Court, during the consideration of the petitions, decided not to refuse the defender's arbitration, while Gor Margaryan, the legal successor of the victim, had already presented the court an answer proving the fairness of the verdict. According to the forensic expertise there was no poison found in the organism of Zaruhi Petrosyan. However, the court was reasonable and postponed the court process until 27.12.2011.
