Today, on 27 December 2011, the Court of Criminal Appeals of the Republic of Armenia continued the appeal hearing on the case of Zaruhi Petrosyan, which was initiated by the culprit Yanis Sarkisov’s attorney Jora Harutyunyan.
The culprit Y. Sarkisov answered a number of questions by the Court. In particular, the questions refer to the issues such as why Z. Petrosyan would like to drink a poison, if so, what could have affected her to do so, whether he was jealous of his wife, was his mother a reason in their quarrels, etc. Sarkisov’s answers were as always negative.
It is worth mentioning that the attorney J. Harutyunyan asked the court to examine the Erebuni Medical Center’s physicians once again. However, the court denied this suggestion, finding it unreasonable and of no importance. Then the court left the consulting room for making a final decision.
As a result, the Court of Criminal Appeals of the Republic of Armenia decided to reject Jora Harutyunyan's appeal, maintaining the initial decision of the Court of First Instance to sentence Y. Sarkisov for murder.
